What it’s all about…

The Arts and Sciences, essential to the prosperity of the State and to the ornament of human life, have a primary claim to the encouragement of every lover of his country and mankind.
— George Washington
The future belongs to young people with an education and the imagination to create.
— Barack Obama

It all started when…

Dave attended a Hogworts-style boys boarding school in England at the age of seven. His teacher believed in performance as a vital part of the development of young minds. Enlightened Middle School teachers reinforced the value of the arts and the fun of performance.

A role in Guys and Dolls at Miramonte High School led to an early Drama Major in college and the exploration of mime and Tom Stoppard - which eventually gave way to 15 years of raising a family, horse ranching and an interest in personal computers.

Like any parent, Dave enthusiastically volunteered behind the scenes as his children began to perform in school plays, dance recitals and soon in Community Theater youth programs. The opportunity to perform on stage with each of them reignited the flame - stints as Actor, Stage Manager, Producer, Technical Director and Stage Director followed.

Working with dynamic mentors along the way, Dave took on a “one-time” Directing job at Campolindo High School, realizing a “dream he didn’t even know he had,” as noted by Music Director, Gene Peterson, at the time. The annual “Spring Musical” has become a passion and 2020 marks the his 17th consecutive production as Artistic, Technical and Stage Director of the program. He still TDs a Nutcracker Ballet and a Dance Recital each year for California Academy of Performing Arts (CAPA) in Moraga, CA - even though his daughter graduated there 15 years ago.

allCAPS productions is named in honor of mentor, choir director and opera singer, Mike Matthews, who was eulogized as having led his life “in all caps.” We aspire to do our work educating young people and creating quality art with boundless enthusiasm — in ALL CAPS!
